04/11/2022 – Day after Palm Sunday
Picture the scene. It is Monday the day after Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Palm branches still litter the narrow streets of Jerusalem. Jesus returns to Jerusalem and entering “His Father’s House” He once more expels the money changers.
The Pharisees and Scribes are furious but fear constrains them from taking action against Jesus. As Jesus walks through the temple court, a group of children recognise Him. Remembering the excitement of the day before they pick palm branches off the ground and rushing to the Master they repeat the shouts of the day before “Hosanna to the Son of David”
Watching from above the chief priests call to Jesus “ Hearest Thou what these say?” To which Jesus responds with a quote from the Psalms, “Yea. Have you never read ‘Out of the mouths of infants and of sucklings Thou hast perfected praise?’ “
This exchange helps us to appreciate the importance of children’s rosaries and indeed the children’s rosary movement. It is from innocent children that Our Lady can draw perfect praise.
So often Mary’s apparitions are to children. It is to them that she looks for consolation for offences against her Son. It is to children like those of Fatima, Lourdes and La Sallette that she entrust the message of the daily rosary. Please include your children, your grandchildren, your students, all children in the rosary.
