05/28/2022 – Pray the Rosary for life

After 11 years of constant prayer vigils, in which hundreds of thousands of rosary were prayed, Marie Stopes Flagship, central London abortion centre closed down on Friday 28th May last year.

“Marie Stopes House” a 5 storey building in the heart of London closed it’s doors on abortion just as the noon Angelus was being recited.

There was a large “Helpers of God’s Precious Infants/Youth 2000 Vigil” at the site on 28 December 2000, and over the years a few caring souls stopped there to pray a Rosary for mums of babies when they could. From 2010, starting with the first UK 40 Days for Life, regular pro-life vigils began outside Marie Stopes House.

With the constant prayer witness, mothers sometimes turn away from the clinic saving their babies. Many of the women sought help from those praying and the God Counsel Network were able to offer help to tens of thousands of women.

In recent years some Marie Stopes Staff have come to those praying the rosary seeking help to find alternative jobs.

Some notable prayer events: In October 2017, the relics of Jacinta and Francisco were brought to a rosary vigil in front of the clinic.

In 2018 a 9 day rosary novena of prayer and witness was held outside Marie Stopes, including a Eucharistic Procession to the abortion centre. Over the 9 days, 29 priests and 1 deacon joined in the rosaries. On the final day, Fr Stephen Boyle offered Mass in thanksgiving for the closure of this abortion centre (although it was not yet closed…) (Adapted from an article by Clare McCullough)

At Fatima, Our Lady asked for the rosary to end the War. Today there is an ongoing war against unborn babies. Pray the Rosary for Life!
