St Joseph Cafasso, celebrated his Mass at 4:30 am.

Walking to the chapel every morning he had to walk along a certain street which always seemed to be littered from the previous night’s carousing.

As he walked down the street, he often saw an old woman walking up and down the street praying the rosary. One morning, he stopped to ask her what she was doing so early.

“I am cleaning the streets from last night.” Sins cost. This woman knew that fresh sins were committed every night and she was making reparation for them with the rosary.
