07/25/2022 – St James the Apostle

Today on his feast, we can ask St James the Apostle, to accompany us through our rosary meditations, after all he was there for many of the Rosary mysteries.

For example, The third luminous mystery, the Proclamation of the Kingdom. James accompanied Jesus as He walked from town to town proclaiming the Kingdom. James along with his brother John and Peter witnessed the Transfiguration. He was present for the Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper.

He was one of the three apostles who Jesus took into the Garden of Gethsemane, though like the others he fell asleep. He also missed the rest of the Passion and Death of the Lord because he ran away. However he had the privilege of seeing Jesus after the Resurrection and being with Him when Jesus ascended to His Father.

He received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost and was with the other apostles at the time of Our Lady’s Assumption.

Considering all that St James saw and heard we would do well to include him in our Rosary today.
