11/29/2021 – Our Lady of Beauraing

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Beauraing in Belgium.

Mary appeared to five children in 1932. The children were from secularised Catholic families and other than at Catholic school had little faith formation. The beautiful Lady they saw in a convent garden carried a rosary.

She asked them to pray and come again. Over the eleven weeks of apparitions, she formed the children in prayer especially in the prayer of the rosary and catechised them. Asking the children and through them the assembled crowds and us, to make sacrifices, trust her Son Jesus, live in peace and charity……and pray the daily rosary.

Re-emphasising the need to pray the rosary and to trust her Son and turn to Him in their needs was an important preparation for the great suffering that was coming for the people of Belgium in WWII.
