12/17/2021 – St. Josep Mayanet
St Josep Manyanet i Vives passed away 120 years ago today.
Named after St Joseph by his father at birth and consecrated by his mother to the Blessed Virgin as a child he had a love of the Holy Family and the Joyful mysteries of the rosary that set the course of his apostolate to sanctify families through the Holy Family.
As a diocescian priest he was surrounded by families. He and the hundreds of priests he gathered together supported the family apostolate encouraging families to gather in prayer especially for the family rosary. They encouraged fathers to imitate St Joseph in accepting responsibility for the spiritual and material needs of their family. They encouraged couples to imitate the sacrificial love and fidelity of Mary and all to seek the will of the Heavenly Father as Jesus did.
St Josep’s last words are those many include in their daily rosary. “Jesus, Mary and Joseph, may I breathe forth my soul in peace with you.”
