12/28/2021 – Spiritual Well-Being of Child and the Family

This Christmas the feast of the Holy Innocents follows shortly after the Sunday of the Holy Family. In God’s plan it is within a family that a child is best protected and nurtured just as the Baby Jesus was saved from the evil designs of Herod within His Holy Family. Marriage and Family are not just social constructs, but natural, and through sacramental grace, supernatural covenants.

The spiritual well being of a family starts in the sacramental marriage of the man and woman and is lived in the daily self offering of their life together, especially in the welcome and care of each child that God blesses them with. Each bringing of a child into the sacramental life through baptism is a new beginning in grace. For a family to survive spiritually, the family must pray and there is no better than the daily family rosary. “If families give Our Lady fifteen minutes a day by reciting the Rosary, I assure them that their homes will become, by God’s grace, peaceful places” said Venerable Fr Patrick Peyton.
