04/19/2022 – Fr Henry Kowalczyk

Two years ago, shortly after celebrating Our Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection, Fr Henry Kowalczyk died of injuries sustained in an epileptic seizure.

In a beautiful film, “I am Fire”, from the Home of the Mother, and available on YouTube, it is clear that Fr Henry united his suffering, and the death he sensed was near, with Our Lord’s Passion and Death. It is also abundantly clear from his words and actions that Father’s faith in the Resurrection and the hope he drew from it was unshakeable.

And just as Our Lady stood beneath the Cross of her Son and kept the promise of Jesus’ resurrection in her heart, Fr Henry knew that the Blessed Virgin was with him and he was with her.

In the film, Fr Henry standing by a cannon on a stone rampart, holds up his rosary and encourages the young people with him to pray it daily. He explains to them that, “Every bead is a cannonball to the devil”Fr Henry pray for us!
