08/21/2022 – Knock

On that wet Thursday evening, the first instinct of Mary Byrne and Mary McLoughlin, when seeing the apparition on the gable wall of the Church in Knock, was to reach for their rosaries. As people gathered over the next hours, they joined the continuous rosary that was being prayed.

This instinct to pray the rosary in Knock has endured and continues today. The rosary has linked us to the Lamb on the Altar and His court, His Queen Mother Mary, St Joseph, St John and the Holy Angels and to everyone who from the beginning has prayed their beads at the apparition site….and linked us to everyone living and dead who has been prayed there including Pope St John Paul II and St Mother Theresa.

It is a beautiful tradition in Ireland to make a yearly pilgrimage to Ireland: A day of rosaries, Mass and confession… may this tradition never pass.

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, pray for us!
