11/08/2021 – St. Elizabeth of the Trinity

At her request, the last photograph of St Elizabeth of the Trinity, today’s saint, was taken by a statue of the Blessed Mother with her rosary and prayer book in her hands. She suffered from Addison’s disease and knew death was not far off. From the silence of her contemplative Carmelite vocation she was sending us a pictorial message. By this time she was living in constant union with the most Holy Trinity dwelling within her from Holy Eucharist to Holy Eucharist. In her carefully constructed picture she is showing us the way to this union with Our Lady as guide and support, the prayerbook as map, and the rosary as the lifeline.
